Sprinkle was founded after many journeys throughout South Africa and Mozambique, when the scale and the devastating impact of the AIDS-problem became more and more obvious to us: almost 2 million orphans, a complete generation swept away, many families led by children no older than 12 years. We cannot nor want to remain blind to this matter anymore. How small our share in the solution might be, we want to make a difference.
Sprinkle wants to help the little ones in each sense of the word ' little'. We want to make a difference for the children, the youngest members of society, innocent victims of the AIDS pandemic and of the neglect of governments.
We want to support the smallest projects, orphanages and individuals fully committed to the cause of these children. Only because these are small-scaled projects they get little or no support from the government or large NGO’s.
We have selected ten projects to support financially and materially. Through our work, we also want to support the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Millennium Goals.
We think with an open spirit, with respect for each culture, religion or colour.
We find it unacceptable to live in a world, in which thousands of children do not even get the chance to be a child, and not to try to do something about it.
Sprinkle encourages us to give the best of ourselves: our time, commitment, love and friendship. Each child we could help counts. That alone makes it worthwhile for us.
