Inkanyiso School

- School for mentally and physically disabled children, and for traumatised victims of rape.

- There are approximately 280 children and around 400 on the waiting list.

- The children come from all over South Africa, and even from Mozambique, because there are almost no schools for these kinds of children.

- At school, they learn everyday skills such as cooking, cleaning, etc., but also those, although on a limited scale, , to enable them get more independent: woodworking, beadsing, hairdressing, weaving etc.

- Most children live in a home linked to the school because their parents often live very far away. Most of the youngsters see their parents once a year.

- They get - to a limited extent - financial support from the Government (salaries of the teachers), from the local Rotary Club, and further they depend on donations.
